Reebok Treadmills Revealed

Thursday, April 29, 2010

There is no denying it, Reebok treadmills are a well recognized brand in the fitness equipment industry. All around the world the Reebok name is synonymous with quality sporting products and in the case of Reebok treadmills it is no different.

Interestingly enough the Reebok treadmills are not produced by Reebok as some might think, but instead Icon Health and Fitness, the largest manufacturer of exercise equipment in the world. By teaming up with Icon, Reebok have been able to put their name on some quality treadmills without the huge costs of designing and producing the machines themselves.

Priced at around $1,000-$1,500 they are aimed at the general home gym user or as Reebok say "designed for clubs, made for the home". Two of the best value treadmills in the range, the Reebok 5500C treadmill and the Reebok 3500C treadmill, have good quality components like a 2-2.5HP motor for a powerful workout and a 20 x 60 inch treadmill belt so you can really stretch out.

The only reservation I have is that a respected treadmill authority stated "there are some serious compromises in component construction" of the Reebok treadmills. When a leading fitness industry expert has this to say about the Reebok range then you sit up and take notice.

Also sometimes you might see a commercial treadmill carrying the Reebok brand name. These treadmills are not made by Icon so keep this in mind if you are looking around.

Advantages

Reebok treadmills are well priced for the specification that their treadmills offer. They are also backed up by one of the biggest names in the sporting world. You can be sure that it is not a fly by night outfit.

Disadvantages

The negative comment on the component construction from a leading treadmill authority really concerns me. Also the fact that Reebok is not a treadmill specialist. I prefer to buy and use equipment from companies that make their own equipment and specialize in the fitness equipment industry.

Recommendation

For those die hard Reebok enthusiasts, who am I to tell you not to buy a Reebok treadmill. You can't fault their reputation.

However, personally I wouldn't consider Reebok treadmills. I feel there are a number of better, more fitness equipment specific brands (check out my treadmill ratings and treadmill reviews) to choose from.

If you are thinking of spending this much money you should seriously consider comparing different brands and machines before making a decision.

How To Use The Right Hand In The Golf Swing

Here's a free golf tip that will help you play better golf. You hear a lot of golf instruction teaching you to make sure you lead with your left side, arm, etc... What about the right hand in the golf swing.

This golf tip may seem a little strange at first, but once you learn the secret, your short game is going to see a major improvement. When you set your right hand on the golf club, the majority of golf instructors will tell you that the right palm should face the target. I disagree somewhat. In the proper(stronger) golf grip, it is the heel of the right hand that faces the target, not so much the palm itself.

If you have the 'V' of the right thumb and forefinger pointed to your right shoulder, like it should, you will notice that the palm of the right hand is pointed a little towards the sky.

Oh, here comes the but, or should I say butt of the right hand. When you practice your chipping or pitching of the golf ball, be aware of the butt of the hand leading the palm through the ball. Hold on to that butt for as long as you can as you follow through to the finish. You just might find yourself making better contact with the golf ball. It will also keep you from trying to scoop the ball. You'll hold on to the wrist cock longer, which is great in the short game area.

If you practice this golf tip in your back yard or at the chipping green for some time, you will actually become aware of leading your golf swing by your butt... of your hand that is. It WILL become a guiding factor in how well you hit the ball. Your direction will become better and I think you just might discover what your golf swing should really feel like. Stick your butt out there and let it lead the way.

Five Steps to a Better Finesse Shot

Monday, April 26, 2010

It's been well documented that a solid short game is the key to consistently shooting lower scores. A vital part of the short-game mix is the "finesse shot," typically from within 100 yards of the green. On a finesse swing, your mindset must be quite different from that applied to the full swing. For example, when hitting a shot with a full swing, your goal is to hit the ball as hard and far as possible. When playing a finesse shot, however, your goal is to hit the ball short and soft. You can see this difference in attitude and approach when a player like Tiger Woods blasts a tee shot over 300 yards, then proceeds to float a soft, delicate pitch to within inches of the cup. Here are the five basic fundamentals that make up the common thread behind a player's ability to consistently get the ball up and down.

Swing Length

A key to any well-executed finesse shot is a golf club that smoothly accelerates through the impact area. Most recreational golfers, when trying to hit the ball a short distance, have the fear of hitting the ball too far. This results in the player quitting on the shot with an abbreviated followthrough. The key to acceleration, as well as maintaining a consistent rhythm, is matching the length of the swing on both sides of the ball. It's important when learning finesse shots to experience and understand that the length of the backswing dictates how far the ball will travel. A shorter backswing results in a short shot, whereas a longer swing results in a higher, longer shot. It's very difficult to hit short shots with long swings and long shots with short swings. Lastly, make sure the followthrough is at least of equal length, and you'll be in perfect balance.

Small-Muscle Relaxation

Small muscles are considered those of the hands, wrists and arms. Far too often, players tense up these muscle groups in finesse situations. Tension causes the hands and arms to become overactive, creating a "hitting" sensation through contact. Hitting, rather than swinging, creates all kinds of problems in the form of poor contact and distance control. When playing finesse shots, make it a point to focus on keeping your small muscles relaxed and passive. This will allow the club to swing naturally in a smooth, rhythmic fashion. Imagine a scale running from zero to 10, where 10 is the tightest. Find a hand and arm pressure of 3 to build small-muscle relaxation.

Body Motion

Many people feel if they don't have to hit the ball a long way, then they shouldn't use their body. As a result, I see a lot of people hitting only with their hands and arms. Wrong. The body plays a vital role in finesse shots. Getting the body involved provides power for the swing, allowing the hands and arms to remain relaxed and passive. Allow your body to pivot in response to the swinging golf club. To feel some body motion, toss a ball to a target 30 feet away. Notice how the body pivots in response to the tossing motion. Apply that same feel to your chips and pitches to build necessary harmony between your club and body.

Rhythm

Rhythm, rhythm, rhythm, I can't say it enough--it's the glue that holds your mechanics together. Your rhythm should match your goals. If you're looking for soft, controllable contact, then you should swing in a soft, even rhythm. Picture the rhythm of a swinging pendulum on a grandfather clock. One, two, tick-tock, back, through! Count out your rhythm as you swing to build a smooth repeatable pace.

Ball Position

In the finesse game, creating different contacts and different trajectories requires different ball positions. When faced with a finesse situation, visualize the kind of flight you want to create, then select the appropriate shot, club and corresponding ball position. As a general rule, play the ball more toward your back foot on all short-range chips. This helps produce a lower trajectory and get the ball rolling on the green as soon as possible. For medium- and high-trajectory pitches, favor a centered ball position. And to facilitate sand-first contact when attempting a bunker blast, play the ball forward in your stance.

Regardless of the finesse shot you're playing, keep in mind these four principles and you'll execute consistently to the best of your ability.

3 Reasons Elliptical Machines Should Be Avoided

Thursday, April 22, 2010

The elliptical machine is a popular piece of equipment, but is it really the best for helping you burn calories and lose fat? I don't think so, here's why.

The latest Men's Health magazine comes down on elliptical machines hard. Now I know elliptical machines are often the only option for people with bad knees, but if your knees are healthy, think twice before using the elliptical machine for these three reasons.

First, on page 52 of the December, 2008 issue, Men's Health warns, "Never trust elliptical machines". That's a harsh statement against a machine you've been using almost every day. But if it did work, wouldn't you be getting amazing results from the machine?

They quote a study that found elliptical machines over-estimated the number of calories burned in a workout by 31%! Ouch.

So if your "elliptical cardio workout" burned 400 calories, the truth is you really burned closer to only 300 calories.

Second, later in the Dec. issue, Men's Health magazine interviewed Biggest Loser contestant Ed Brantley. Ed lost 73 pounds on the show, but had this to say about elliptical machines, "I hated the elliptical. It was too easy, I didn't feel like I was doing anything." Exactly. I couldn't have said it better myself.

But that's EXACTLY why machines are so popular. You see, the third reason elliptical machines are inferior for fat loss is because they fail my "human nature" test.

Put it this way, if you take 100 people and put them in a gym with 100 treadmills and 100 elliptical machines. Tell them they have to exercise for 30 minutes at a hard pace, and they have the choice to use either the treadmill or the elliptical.

Guess where 90% of folks are going? The elliptical! Why? Because it is human nature to take the EASY WAY out. And that is why elliptical machines are so busy at the gym and you rarely see anyone doing intervals on a treadmill or bodyweight circuits in the corner of the gym.

Often I see folks using the machine only to say they "worked out", but without getting any REAL work done. So if you are stuck at a fat loss plateau, and you've been counting on the elliptical machine to help you out, then forget it.

I recommend doing interval training outside, or on a bike or treadmill. Even better options include kettlebell training and bodyweight circuits.

Super Buying Tips: The Best Golf Club Bag For You

Wednesday, April 21, 2010

A golf club bag along will probably not improve your golf game by itself. However if will definitely improve your enjoyment of the game. So purchasing the right golf club bag can be a very important decision that should be made carefully. There are a wide variety of bags and different prices ranges and as a customer looking to purchase it is easy to become overwhelmed. Of course the staff at a golf store is more interested in making a sale and possible commission then helping you find the best golf bag. Thus leave many people stuck and with very little information to help them purchase the perfect bag.

This article will help you narrow down and purchase the right bag for you. This is based on your playing style and budget.

The 3 Types Of Bags

There are three main types of golf bags and each one has a different purpose. Read about each one careful as it will help you decide what to buy.

Staff Golf Club Bags

These are the largest types of bags and one with all the bells and whistles. They are also the heaviest golf bag out of the group. These are the Cadillac of golf bags. They have pockets for everything you can think of plus another pocket just in case. These bags are meant to be carried by a caddy. So typically size and weight is not an issue as you will not be struggling to carry this size of bag you can have a caddy do that for you. So in that case a person looking to purchase this type of bag should go all out and purchase as much as they can afford. Getting the extra bells and whistles can provide some extra comfort on the course.

Cart Golf Club Bags

The second category of golf bags are Cart bags. These are smaller the ones above but still bigger then what you want to carry on a course. These bags are made for putting on the bag of a golf cart. They are still large and have more then enough room for all your needs. However, they are made slightly smaller so you can easily pull the bag in and out of the golf cart and easily walk short distances with the bag as needed.

Carry Golf Bags

The golf bags in this category are a great deal smaller then the two above. These are typically made of nylon, plastic or other inexpensive materials. They are paired down and don't have as many pockets or extra spaces to carry everything. However, these bags are designed to be carried by the golfer him/herself. There is enough room for the essentials like a few balls and the necessary clubs but nothing extra. These are a great choice for the golfer that likes to carry their own bag.

Your Typical Golfing Style

So in making a choice about what golf bag to purchase it really comes down to your own golfing style and the way you like to play. If you are an amature golfer that plays ina lot of tournaments and always uses a caddy to carry the bclubs then your needs are going to be very different then the recreational player that like to be self contained and probably playing a smaller course. So take into consideration your own golfing style and the typical golf courses you play. Then you can purchase a bag that fits your needs.

Think About The Little Things

Last but of course not least one has to think ahead about the features they would use often. For example if you want to use a stand so it is easier to get your clubs in and out of the bag then by all means make sure you find a bag with a stand. On the same note if you often use an umbrella or other accessories then make sure you try out the bag you are interested in and think about where you could place the things you use frequently. If you don't like to carry much extra dn go with only the basic gear needed then get something slim and cut out the extras. It is important to really analyze what you use and what you don't use.

Kettlebell Get-Up for Golf - Ultimate Whole Body Exercise for Golf!

Tuesday, April 20, 2010

Shoulder injuries are as common in golf as pink spandex in the aerobics studio. This is usually the result of poor posture, flexibility issues, and a decreased level of muscular strength and endurance. Of course without stability in the shoulder girdle your swing will not be as efficient as you want it to be. In fact the result usually ends up in developing poor swing mechanics and then rotator cuff injuries. The finest exercise for the shoulder and the core is the Kettlebell Get-up (or some people call it the Turkish Get-up). The Kettlebell Get-up will effectively teach you to brace the abdominal muscles, glutes and lower back. In addition it will work all the major muscle groups' surrounding the shoulder, including small stabilizing muscles, tendons and ligaments of the shoulder. The Get-up has proven itself as a phenomenal exercise for developing strength, flexibility, and stability in the shoulder joint all of which are essential for an effective powerful swing. Without a doubt including this exercise in your current golf exercise routine is essential if you want functional strength, flexibility and stability, all of which is essential to packing a powerful golf swing. Give it a shot, try it with your bodyweight at first, than add a dumbbell if you don't have access to a kettlebell. For more exercises like this one check out http://www.back9strength.com, and pick up your copy of Back9Strength: The Ultimate Golf Fitness Rolodex.

How to perform the Kettlebell Get-up

1) Lie on the floor, in a supine position (i.e. face up), next to an appropriate size
Kettlebell.

2) Use both hands to press the kettlebell vertical - directly above your shoulder. Once in position, keep your elbow locked, wrist straight, and your eyes on the kettlebell.
Post your foot close to your buttocks (same side as your working arm.)

3) Allow the weight to drift slightly forward, then push off your posted foot and sit up. It is acceptable to allow your free arm to assist slightly in sitting up.

4) From sitting, slowly move to the kneeling position. This can be done a number of ways. The main thing is to move slowly, keeping your working arm perpendicular to the ground and to finish in well supported, 3-point kneeling position.

5) Slowly straighten your torso, then stand straight up.

6) Now that the fist half of the KGU is over, simply reverse the steps until you have reached your starting point.

Buying Home Gym Equipment

Monday, April 19, 2010

Health experts have proven that regular exercise coupled with a good diet allow you to live longer and healthier. In this busy day and age, not everyone has the time to go to the gym - resulting to a lot of overweight people that desperately need to exercise. A healthy alternative is for you to purchase your own exercise machine that you can store in your own home or even at your office. Here are some tips when buying home gym equipment.

First, know your fitness goals and keep these goals in mind when you are buying home gym equipment. One of the biggest mistakes that people make is buying the biggest or trendiest fitness machine simply because they like how it looks. More often than not, these end up gathering dust in your storage rooms or garage because you never end up using them. It is important to take note of what particular type of physical activity you want or enjoy doing before you buy your exercise machine. If you are looking to loose a few pounds and you enjoy walking or hiking, a treadmill is the best option for you. If you are looking to tone your lower body while burning calories a stationary bike is your obvious choice.

Second, set aside a budget before buying home gym equipment. Quality exercise machines do not come cheap. They are constantly exposed to wear and tear when they are used properly. So, pick machines that are built to last and have passed quality certifications to get the most out of your money. If you are operating on a tight budget, think about investing in several weights, a step trainer or a maybe some exercise videos.

Try doing some leg work before buying home gym equipment. Don't just walk into a store blindfolded waiting for a salesman to rip you off! If you have been working out in a gym and you find an equipment that you like, try searching the internet or asking the manufacturer if they sell exercise machines for home use. Most companies manufacture equipment that is designed for the gym and those that you can use in the comfort of your own home. You can also ask your gym instructor if he has anything to recommend.

The cardinal rule of buying home gym equipment is to never buy one sight unseen. Always test run your exercise machine for about twenty minutes before buying it. Many complaints about performance usually crop up after this period of time. Try them out to see how they will perform and how much time it will take for you to adjust to it. If the machine requires a high learning curve, you will probably lose your motivation to exercise with it. Pick something that is relatively easy to use and the best way to find that out to try it out yourself!

Types of GPS (Global Positioning System) Radio Signals and Types of GPS Receivers

Sunday, April 18, 2010

GPS satellites transmit two types of radio signals which are C/A-code and P-code. Coarse Acquisition (C/A code) is the type of signal which is used in consumer units and is known as SPS (Standard Positioning Service). C/A-code is not as accurate as P-code (which is mentioned later on) and is easier for U.S. military forces to jam and spoof, i.e. broadcast false signals to trick the receiver into thinking it is somewhere else when it really is not. The advantage of C/A-code however is that it acquires the satellite signal faster and hence obtaining an initial fix on your position takes less time. Due to this, there is an option for receivers which use P-code to track onto the C/A-code signal first then switch over to the P-code.

P-code on the other hand provides highly precise location information and it is difficult to jam or spoof. The U.S. military is the primary user of P-code transmissions and uses an encrypted form of the data so that only special receivers can access the signal. P-code broadcasts are known as the Precise Positioning System (PPS).

Now let us switch focus to that of GPS receivers. Some of this information can become pretty technical but hopefully both the novice and more advanced readers can learn and sift through the information to help them.

GPS units receive two different types of data which are Almanac and Ephemeris. Almanac data contains the approximate positions of the satellites; the data are continuously being transmitted and are stored in the memory of the GPS receiver. Ephemeris data broadcasts the precise positions of the satellites. To obtain an accurate location fix, the receiver has to know how far away a satellite is. Hence, the GPS receiver calculates the distance to the satellite by of course using signals from the orbiting satellite.

A GPS receiver needs data from multiple satellites to obtain or triangulate a position as to where the user of the GPS is located. First there is the issue of location which requires a minimum of three satellite signals. Second is that of position, which needs four satellite signals to determine your position in three dimensions: latitude, longitude and elevation. GPS receivers can generally be separated into five categories which are consumer models, U.S. military/government models, mapping/resource models, survey models and commercial transportation models. With respect to the consumer and commercial transportation models, the site SecureWithGPS provides GPS devices more catered to the consumer and commercial markets. If you think that such devices might suit your needs for fleet management of your vehicles, keeping track of the security of your car when it might be parked or even looking out for your teenage drivers, please visit the site for useful and related information.

Finally, we will take a quick look at the accuracy of GPS receivers. One can typically expect a GPS receiver to be accurate within 49 feet or 15 meters. Accuracy depends on receiver location, obstructions that block satellite signals and information received from ground-based beacons to name a few. So rest assured that after spending money to start using this widely used technology the data obtained from the GPS receivers will definitely be accurate enough to provide the user with reliable information.

The Basics Of Buying Golf Gloves

Friday, April 16, 2010

Maintaining a solid grip on a golf club can be difficult. Between the motion of the swing and the impact of the club hitting the ball, it is easy for the club to slightly twist or shift. The slight slip or twist on your hand will change the alignment of the club face to the golf ball, often causing a slice or a hook. Wearing golf gloves can create a more stable grip and consequently a more stable swing.

The most common material for a golf glove is leather. Leather offers a great grip and feels like a second skin. Leather is moisture resistant and will stay soft if it is properly cared for. Leather does have a tendency to stretch, so make sure to buy a glove that fits snugly.

Synthetic gloves are generally lightweight, breathable and stretch to conform to the hand. This allows a great range of motion. Synthetic gloves tend to be more durable than leather gloves. Many manufacturers are now using a combination of leather and synthetic materials, with the synthetic material being used on the areas that get the most motion, like the knuckle joints. This combines the feel of leather and the added flexibility and durability of synthetics.

All-weather gloves are geared to those that often play in humid and wet conditions. They are generally made of a light synthetic material that actually grips better with more moisture. There are also specialty winter gloves that allow a golfer to play in those colder conditions. The glove allows flexibility while maintaining heat in the hands.

Most gloves, of all types, will have moisture-wicking properties, and will often have mesh on the back to allow more comfort and "breathability"

While gloves could be worn on both hands, typically they are worn on just one. If you are right- handed, you would want to wear a glove on your left hand. If you are left-handed, the glove should be worn on your right hand.

Gloves should fit your hands well. Golf gloves are manufactured in a wide array of sizes, and as of yet, there is no proper "one size fits all". Try on many types of gloves. It should feel as if you are not wearing a glove. There should be no pinch-points and your hand should have a full range of motion. If your hand goes numb during play, your gloves are likely too small. If your glove is too large, your hand may shift in the glove, thus voiding the advantage of a more stable grip that gloves offer.

The last consideration should be color and style. With close to a hundred different brands and colors, there should not be a problem finding a pair of gloves to match any equipment or attire.

How Much to Spend on a Golf Set

Thursday, April 15, 2010

How much you spend on a golf set will really depend on your budget as well as what you are looking for. Prices for used clubs depend on the age and company. New sets range anywhere from $75-$1,500. If your budget is small or you won't play often, consider buying a used set of clubs, or a new set that includes a few more clubs. If you have a few hundred dollars to work with, find a new set (usually 14 clubs plus a putter) by a good manufacturer that meets your needs; the very expensive clubs aren't needed for most players.

A golf set includes different combinations of clubs, but most have 14. That includes 3 woods (3, 5, and 7), a driver, 8 irons (2-9), a pitching wedge, and a sand wedge.

Notice that the putter is not in that list. This is because putters are so specialized. Usually golfers will buy a golf set and then choose the putter they want and add it to their bag.

If you have specific aspects you want from certain clubs and can't find a golf set that gives you that, consider buying clubs individually instead of together in a set.

Buying your golf clubs in a golf set is a really smart way to get more quality clubs for your money than you would if you bought the clubs individually. Sets of clubs are made to be used together, so their weight, length, grip, and design will coordinate between clubs, allowing a more consistent game. And buying in a set (versus individually) also gives you a chance to get other goodies included, like a golf club bag, club covers, golf gloves, tees, and golf balls. Shop around to find the set that gives you the most bang for your buck, then head to the greens to enjoy!

Monday, April 12, 2010

Whether you have been playing golf for a while or are a beginner you will probably be aware of how critical a proper golf swing is to your performance and enjoyment of the game. A very simple way to improve is to watch how other good golfers at your local club play and analyze their golf swing. If you approach them in the right way many will probably give you some points to focus on - and free advice from more experienced people I find is always valuable.

In any sport or field what They focus on more - so get in the Gulf of focusing on your swing and how to run properly, are more confident in your abilities and more fun in the game of golf. They are also consistent in your units.

What can you read and hear more about the importance of stretching for golf. Now, like a golf endurance sports such as walking was not surprised that previous statement might be read, but it is important to stretch for golf. The more flexibleare the better your experience of golf will be. I appreciate you might not know what to do for stretches so I recommend finding some stretching or yoga classes in your area. Failing that there are plenty of stretching dvd's and ebooks online with good routines in them. Stretching can be quite relaxing at the beginning or end of the day, especially if you sit down all day at work.

Sunday, April 11, 2010

Who is the Garmin Nuvi 260W for? E 'for frequent travelers, whether live or as part of the mode. This is a gadget that will save you a lot of money, time and stress. Examples of stress juggling attention to your screaming babies on their backs and attention at the next crossing you turn is on the main road. If any of these devices, the risk of accidents is extremely low.

When it comes to navigation features, it is onlythe beginning. The Nuvi 260W has tools, such as Garmin Travel JPEG picture viewer, world travel clock with time zones, currency converter, measurement converter, calculator and more. Also included is a Garmin Lock, an anti-theft feature, and configurable vehicle icons, the graphics card will let you select car-shaped display, which will include the location. The GPS navigation system to North America NT, 4.3 inch touch screen display with preloaded 20/20 MappingPerspective.

The function of speech-text the Garmin Nuvi 260W automatically calls means that the street names (saying "turn left onto main street" instead of "turn right in 300 feet"). This feature allows the driver to concentrate on the road while navigating through traffic and being able to speak to passengers, especially children at the same time.

I bought personally bought the Garmin Nuvi 260W travel family to help work with e. After an exhausting searchMagellan, TomTom and Mio, I bought it for three reasons. In particular, ease of use. but secondly, for its clarity and screen at least one third its astonishing accuracy. Do not think I have no connection with Garmin. No, I'm in a totally different industry and commerce.

There is a hiccup but once, while I will enter the keyboard, the wrong letter was chosen. But a simple reboot means shutdown then fixed the problem. Another reason why I chose the Garmin Nuvi 260Wother models was the price. GPS impressive for a deal.

GPS technology has advanced in recent years. Not always the most modern sense, but it usually helps the public good. How to make a driver Straight - Important Points, Hitting the driver hit straight line

Golf with golfers who filled out a relatively decent iron game, but do not know how to hit a driver straight and long. Many players are actually afraid to try to use their driver off the tee, because they do not want to be embarrassed by the result! Driving should be one of the most fun parts of the game and you should make it a priority in order to learn to hit a driver directly.

Here are some key points to remember:

Finding the right grip. The handle can still do more toflight of the ball than any other aspect. golf grip is all a bit 'different and must find its outlet.

If you hit golf balls on the right side, as you should try to rotate clockwise hand on golf clubs, so you can see 3 fingers of left hand. You should also try gripping the golf club with less pressure, try holding it gently. These adjustments will encourage the clubface to close earlier in your swing.
If you hit golf balls on the leftyou should try to rotate the hands clockwise, so you see only 1 or maybe not the fingers on his left hand. You could also try gripping the club a bit 'closer. These adjustments will delay the clubface closes in your swing.

Turn your body, do not rely on his arms. Keep your back straight, and make sure to bend at the hips, not life. Rotate your shoulders toward the back of the spine, move the arms back as a unit with the shoulders. Yourright elbow should be folded and hidden in your ribs and left arm should be in the upper chest may be extended. With iron golf, sometimes you can get by with less rotation and more arm strength, but will not be able to control the "big dog". The rotation is very important when learning how to hit a driver directly. Golfers, arms in the air tends to raise plane golf swing, so are too steep and usually brings the album Big Banana!
Consider howRoll your hands in golf swing. As you swing, you should roll your right hand and forearm on your left. Players can not roll the hands soon enough stretch to hit the ball correctly. Who are tipping too soon beat hook. Or you can all over the golf course. Work on planning and try to roll your hands gently and evenly. The idea, it is time that they are so beautiful square at impact (as was set-up) or a little 'more battered, secondIndividual.

Only a small percentage of players who know how to hit a driver directly. Try these suggestions and try to understand the concepts behind it. Find out how a driver directly concerned, and will be among the minority of the golfer who can really "the big dog eat."

The Garmin StreetPilot c340 is in the middle of the "c" series. The big advantage it has over the c330 is text to speech. This means that instead of the voice prompts saying things like "turn left in 100 meters" it will say "turn left on Main Steet". This can really be an asset when driving city streets and you don't want to look over at the GPS screen to confirm which turn to take.

Additionally, the c340 can be upgraded with an optional FM TMC traffic receiver. This means that live traffic information can be sent to your StreetPilot to alert you of accidents, construction, or simply rush hour traffic. When applicable the c340 could then route you around that traffic if a faster route can be established.

If you want to save a little bit of cash, you can opt for the c330 if you don't mind not having text-to-speech nor want the optional traffic receiver. Otherwise, this is a good pick for the feature mix and price point.

Garmin Nuvi 250 -

Garmin has announced the Nuvi 250 which is in the middle of the entry level Nuvi 200 series. The Nuvi 250 is designed to be an extremely simple device, without many of the advanced options many people never use. I often get feedback from readers that a particular device would be a good match for them, but the price was a little high and they felt like they were paying for features they really didn't need. The Garmin Nuvi 250 might be a perfect fit for them.

One of the changes for the Nuvi 200 series is that the flip-up antenna is apparently gone, replaced by an internal antenna. I've never been a fan for the flip-up antenna design so this is a welcome change.

Many of the PDA features in the rest of the Nuvi lineup have remained in the Nuvi 250 such as the world clock, calculator, unit converter, and the picture viewer. You can also load up Garmin's additional paid content such as the Savers Guide and Travel Guide products.

The Garmin Nuvi 250 comes with a 3.5″ display, which is the standard among the entry level GPS devices, but still provides enough of a screen to ensure ease of navigation. There is an SD card slot for loading additional products and maps.

So, no Bluetooth, no traffic, no MP3 player, no FM transmitter, no widescreen display. However most people can probably get by just fine without those features. However there is something else that you might just want that is missing, text-to-speech. You will need to move up to the 300 or 600 series Nuvi to get that feature. If Garmin had included text-to-speech with the 250, this device would be untouchable in the entry level category, but it would have also likely cannibalized sales for the still popular 300 series. And most people will get by just fine without text-to-speech.

Garmin - Who are they?

Garmin is the largest consumer GPS manufacturer and has become almost synonymous with "GPS". Garmin was started in 1989 and has a history of producing leading GPS products and they have sold millions of GPS receivers. The have a nice line of Automotive GPS units.

Types of GPS (Global Positioning System) Radio Signals and Types of GPS Receivers

Thursday, April 8, 2010

Resistance Bands Workout

When you are looking into getting home exercise equipment, resistance bands are an excellent choice for quite a few reasons. First of all, a resistance bands workout is a full workout that allows you to build muscle not only while you're lifting or pulling something, but the entire workout. It adheres to the concept of resistance training, in which your muscles are worked in a different way from traditional weight training with free weights or a home gym machine.

Other benefits that come with a resistance bands workout include the fact that resistance training bands are low in cost and take up minimal space. A conventional home gym or workout machine can cost thousands of dollars. It can also take up so much space that you have to give it an entire room all to itself. With a resistance bands workout, you can take out your small bag of resistance bands and start exercising wherever you like, and then put them back in the bag when you're finished, and back in a closet or somewhere where they are out of the way. This is a completely different experience from dealing with free weights, dumbbells, barbells, home gym machines, etc.

Along with the price difference and the space difference...the workout is very different from free weights and home gyms, as well as being unique on its own. You get double the effectiveness when you do a resistance bands workout because you aren't only exercising by lifting or curling a heavy object - there is resistance on your muscles the whole time.

Resistance bands workouts may not be for every kind of workout session, and they might not be for everyone, but they definitely prove to be an effective workout that packs a lot of punch in the results that people have achieved in little time with a resistance bands workout routine.

Portable GPS Receivers Buying Guide

Wednesday, April 7, 2010

With the rising popularity of GPS receivers, they have almost become a necessity to those that are fed up with getting lost while trying to reach a destination. But GPS (Global Positioning System) receivers do much more than simply letting you know where you are. With many models you can have turn-by-turn voice prompts telling you where to turn, how soon to expect the turn, the angle of the turn, and even which lane you should be in. On some models you also have access to hundreds of thousands of points of interest. Examples of points of interest are restaurants, department stores, gas stations, banks, etc.

There are many other features that are available on today's portable GPS receivers, though knowing what you want before making a purchase will help you decide on which ones are most important to you, and which ones are just added bonuses. Below is a list of things that our product specialists recommend our customers to look for before making a purchasing decision when shopping for portable GPS receivers.

Screen Size: It is important to consider the screen size of a portable GPS receiver because if your not able to see the roads you need to take, there's no point of having GPS. Make sure to get a receiver with a screen that will be large enough for you to be able to see street names with ease. Keep in mind though; there is always the zoom feature which gives you close ups of the map being displayed.

Touch Screen Controls: You should consider a receiver with touch screen controls, which makes it easier for you to input your information, and saves space because there is no need for extra buttons elsewhere.

Voice Prompts: If you plan on using the GPS receiver mainly while driving, it would be best to get one that features turn-by-turn voice prompts so you don't have to take your eyes off the road.

Battery: If you plan on using the GPS system that is not connected to something for power, consider the battery life of the receiver. If the battery doesn't last you long enough, you may just end up lost in the middle of nowhere.

Re-Routing Capabilities: Re-routing capabilities on a GPS receiver is a feature that re-calculates another route for you when you miss a turn. Getting a receiver with re-routing capabilities is important because if you miss a turn and the GPS doesn't automatically re-route, then you will have to go back follow the receivers exact route which can be very inefficient. Most portable GPS receivers designed for use in a car have re-routing capabilities, though some may not so its always good to double check.

Points of Interest: Having a GPS receiver with a high amount of POI (Points of Interest) can be very helpful to you in finding locations that you don't know the exact address to. The points of interest usually include things like gas stations, banks, stores, restaurants, ATM machines, etc.

Included Accessories: Check to see whether the GPS receiver comes with the accessories you need such as an AC/DC adapter, car mount, cables, cases, etc.

Definitions:

GPS: A receiver that calculates its absolute geographic position by determining its relative position to a set of at least three satellites.

How to Hit a Driver Straight - Key Points to Hitting the Driver Straight Consistently

Golf courses are filled with golfers who have relatively decent iron games, but don't know how to hit a driver straight or long. Many golfers are downright scared to attempt to use their driver off the tee because they don't want to be embarrassed by the result! Driving should be one of the funnest parts of the game and you should make it a priority to learn how to hit a driver straight.

Here are some the key points to remember:

Find the right grip. The grip may have more to do with ball flight than any other aspect. Everyone's golf grip is slightly different and you have to find your own grip.

If you're hitting golf balls to the right than you should try rotating your hands clockwise on the golf club so that you can see 3 knuckles on your left hand. You should also try gripping the golf club with less pressure, try holding it very gently. These adjustments will encourage the club face to close earlier in your swing.
If you're hitting golf balls to the left than you should try rotating your hands counter-clockwise so that you can only see 1 or possibly no knuckles on your left hand. You could also try gripping the club a little tighter. These adjustments will delay the club face from closing in your swing.

Rotate your body, don't rely on your arms. Keep your back straight at address and make sure you're bending from the hips, not the waist. Rotate your shoulders back from your spine, moving your arms back as a unit with your shoulders. Your right elbow should be bent and tucked in by your ribs, and your left arm should be extended across the top of your chest. With golf irons you can sometimes get away with less rotation and more arm power, but you won't be able to control the 'big dog' like that. Rotation is a very important when learning how to hit a driver straight. Golfers who lift their arms too high in the air tend to have golf swing plane that is way too steep and usually results in the big banana slice!
Think about how your hands roll over in your golf swing. As you swing, your right hand and forearm should roll over your left. Players who don't roll their hands over soon enough tend to hit the ball right. Those who roll them over too early will hit hooks. Either way you'll be all over the golf course. Work on your timing and try to roll your hands over smoothly and evenly. The idea is to time it so that they're pretty square at impact (like they were at set-up) or slightly rolled over, depending on the individual.

Only a small percentage of golfers know how to hit a driver straight. Try these tips and try to understand the concepts behind them. Learn how to hit a driver straight and you'll be among the minority of golfers who can really 'let the big dog eat.'

Every turn is mapped out so you can arrive at your destination without getting lost.

Depending on your needs, discount Garmin GPS navigational systems have the perfect system for you. There are hand-held units which travel along with you where ever you go so you don't get lost, perhaps while you are walking in a large city. In addition to the hand-held model, there is a watch which displays a map and instructions for getting to your destination. The screen is large enough to be seen, but not bulky so wearing it as a watch is no problem. There are systems which mount on the dashboard of your car, which is the most popular kind of all GPS navigational systems, and gives you maps and then shows you turn-by-turn instructions on how to get to the destination you program into the system.

Garmin does not sell their GPS's at a discount directly; however, on their website, they will direct you to retail shops and websites who do offer them for less than list price. An additional way to obtain a discounted GPS is to search the auction sites and make a bid and hope you beat out all other bids. Periodically retailers will put GPS units on sale. Many retailers and even the Garmin website often offer a sale on their most popular brand of GPS. The website will also direct you to another part of their website in which they sell refurbished GPS products that sell for a significantly reduced price. Most refurbished GPS units come with a limited warranty and are extremely reliable.

There are many methods for purchasing discount Garmin GPS systems, from their websites homepage through sales, shopping around other discount websites and in store specials. By shopping around a little, you can find discount GPS products and save hundreds of dollars on the perfect global positioning system for you and your family.

Why Call Them Dalmatians?

Tuesday, April 6, 2010

Nobody can mistake a Dalmatian for any other breed because of their white coats with black spots. They look like polka dot calls! They're named Dalmatians because they come from the region of Dalmatia, in Croatia. Their history was as war dogs, guarding the region's borders. Because of this background, they are still good guarding dogs and will protect members of their human family.

The reason Dalmatians are associated with firefighters goes way back to the days when fire engines weren't motorized; they were drawn by horses. Dalmatians were a breed of dog that got along particularly well with horses, so they were trained to run ahead of the fire carriage to clear a path and guide the firefighters to the fire. Additionally, the Dalmatians were used as rescue dogs to run into burning buildings and find victims. Historians believe that these dogs were also used to guard the firehouse and its equipment when the firefighters were sleeping or away from the firehouse, especially to deter horse thieves.

Many firefighters choose Dalmatians as their pets because of the tradition associated with them serving in the fire service. Many firehouses that have paid full-time officers "adopt" a Dalmatian and share the duties of caring for it as a firehouse mascot and pet.

To further increase the popularity of this breed of dog, the book and later Disney films 101 Dalmatians spurred interest in these dogs and breeders made a lot of money during that period. Unfortunately, many people didn't first investigate the temperament and needs of this breed of dog before taking them home to their children, and many found them to be too energetic and gave them up to animal shelters.

Dalmatians, though generally a healthy breeds, do tend to have a couple of specific health problems common to this type of dog. One of those is a predisposition to deafness. You've heard the information about how white cats with blue eyes are usually deaf, haven't you? Because Dalmatians are primarily albino (white) with black spots, the absence of certain pigment predisposes them to deafness. The other health concern for these dogs is bladder stones, much like kidney stones and gall stones in humans. The good news is that Dalmatians are less likely to suffer hip dysplasia that is common to other dogs.

Dalmatians usually weigh between 50-75 pounds and stand at a height (from ground to their shoulders) of about two feet. In this breed, the males are larger than the females and the average life span is 12-14 years. Puppies are born without spots in litter sizes averaging eight pups. Their spots don't start appearing until a few weeks after they're born. It's a good thing that these dogs have short hair, because they shed year-round. Even with brushing, Dalmatians are going to be messier than other dogs that shed because their hair is barbed at the ends, making it sticky, so it sticks to everything it touches (clothing, sofa, etc.).

The Dalmatian is also associated with beer. Yes, beer. Anheuser-Busch is famous for its horse-drawn wagon and there is always a Dalmatian accompanying it. The dog and the Clydesdales have become iconic and their Super Bowl commercials are sometimes funny, sometimes endearing to the point of making you cry.

A Dalmatian is not a good choice if you live in an apartment because they like to run several times daily. They need some size yard to play in, but they should be an indoor/outdoor dog breed as they don't do well outside during the winter.

Next time you see one of those "spotted dogs," you'll know a little bit more about its history and some of the reasons the breed is famous.

Golf Tips For Beginners - The First Steps in Learning Golf

Learning the game of golf can be exciting. Aside from being relatively easy to practice because it does not require too much physical strength unlike other sports, learning the game of golf can also be fun and rewarding.

If you suddenly feel the interest to play golf, here are some golf tips for beginners that you might find useful.

Know your equipment. Of course, before trying to hit that ball, you have to learn about the equipment and tools you will need in the game. You have to keep in mind too that there are different types of clubs you will need in a game of golf.

Understand that a golfer can carry a maximum of 14 clubs in his bag for a round of golf. He can carry less but not more than 14. You have to learn also that there are different types of golf clubs used during the game depending also on whether they are for hitting the ball for long distances or for short ones.

Aside from knowing your tools and equipment for a game of golf, one of the important golf tips for beginners is to observe proper behavior as well. Keep in mind that in playing golf, you have to have your own set of clubs and equipment and avoid borrowing from other players. Although it may be allowed in certain circumstances, it is not good to pester other golfers with your borrowing of clubs, tees or golf balls. Of course, along with familiarizing yourself with the equipment, you have to familiarize with the rules of the game as well.

Learn with a qualified instructor. Learning golf the right way from the start is a good technique because you can develop bad playing habits when you start learning the game and you may find it difficult to correct later. With an experienced golfer, and a good one, you will be able to avoid common mistakes in playing and learn the correct way of doing a golf swing, hitting the ball, and avoiding common problems such as a golf slice.

Although golf mostly involves mental abilities, it does not mean however that you don't have to practice. Practice is essential in any type of sport and you should schedule regular trips to the driving range if you want to learn the basics quick and if you want to get used to your clubs and equipment easily.

Condition your mind to play golf. The game of golf indeed is not much of a physical challenge but a mental challenge. With the right conditioning of your mind, you can actually do more than what you have practiced on the driving range. Precision in the game of golf can be enhanced with proper focus and concentration as well as developing the right attitude towards your game, and one technique that can help you with these, is conditioning your subconscious mind to help you make your golf moves run like an 'autopilot'.

It is also important to know the golf etiquette, which are guidelines in playing golf, and abide by it. The golf etiquette contains guidelines on safety, player's obligations, fairness and other rules that golfers generally follow. Thus, if you are interested in playing golf, you may want to learn these rules as well as other golf tips for beginners that you can start with.

Custom Logo Golf Balls And Your Golf Ball History

So you want to customize your golf balls and have your company's insignia printed on it. All you need to do is to go to the custom logo golf balls store and tell the clerk "Hey, print this on 200 golf balls. When can I get it?"

Cool. So while you are waiting-while you and I are waiting-let me share to you how your golf ball of today came into being. The earliest recording of golf can be traced back in the 1100s. But the details are obscure so let us jump three centuries later to Scotland. The golf ball used in this year, in about 1400s, was made of goose feathers and leather and it was called a featherie. Talk about creativity in naming convention. Prior to that, the golf ball is no more than rounded wood.

A featherie is no more than wet goose feathers wrapped tightly in leather. The ball is boiled and allowed to cool-of course, it is too hot to handle-so the feathers would expand and the leather would shrink. This process made the ball ideal for flight. The challenge here is the expense and the amount of time needed to produce these golf balls. An expert golf ball maker can only produce two featheries in one day. According to history, a featherie cost the equivalent of $00 USD of today per ball!

Add to that the fact that a featherie is totally useless once it got wet. It simply burst when hit or when it hit solid surfaces because the stitches on the leather get loose easily. Since the genius of mankind was not yet fully explored and cultivated at that time-precisely because I wasn't born yet-the poor people of the planet had to make do wit the featherie as the official golf ball for two hundred years. Of course, I need not say that custom logo golf balls were not yet a fad at that time.

Then, in 1848, a man of great intellect, Robert Paterson-not related to me-introduced the gutta percha. Also called a guttie, the gutta percha was a golf ball made of a rubbery substance or material found in a Malaysian Sapodilla tree. How Robert Paterson got to Malaysia I do not know. What I know of is that his golf ball was used until the 1800s.

A man who got bored, the name of whom I have forgotten, wound rubber into a ball while waiting for his friend to play-guess what-golf! And that is the beginning of the modern golf ball. People found out, though, that smooth golf balls are not ideal for flight because it cannot fight the pressure in the air while moving at a certain speed. So people added dimples to the golf not to make it look cute but to use aerodynamics to get the perfect lift and drag of the golf ball in flight.

No. Your custom logo golf balls are not yet ready. What I advise is that you go home because it takes an average of three to five days for companies to customize the imprints on your golf balls-what with all the plates and colors and all. See ya after....

NordicTrack C2000 Treadmill Review

The NordicTrack C2000 Treadmill has a very impressive specification and is the cheapest on the market to our knowledge with an iFit SD card slot. You choose from a number of programmes depending on your requirements such as weightloss, improving fitness or body sculpting and then insert the card into the console.

The iFit programme now controls your treadmill and actually starts talking to you! Technology can be a wonderful thing and we feel this is a great feature to help you achieve your fitness targets - if you can used to the American accent, why don't they do Brummie or Geordie :0)

Anyway, enough of R2D2, what about the treadmill? Well, as you'd expect from NordicTrack it looks very stylish almost to the point of minimalist. It has a good sized belt with plenty of width and feels comfortable and stable under foot. You can adjust the feel of the deck with NordicTrack's Durastride slide cushion with 3 settings to replicate the sensation of the road through to grass.

The ability to change the shock absorption setting is very useful. If you're overweight or recovering from an injury the higher levels help to reduce stress on your joints. As you lose the weight and feel more confident the lower settings could be used to prepare you for road-running.

The NordicTrack C2000 comes with 15 programmes that include weightloss, performance and aerobic options plus whatever you choose to add if you buy an iFit card. You can measure your heart rate using either the grips on the handles or use the strap included in the price.

The console has a good sized display which is easy to read, the controls are straightforward with one touch speed and incline functions. It has speakers and a USB plug for your iPod or for use with the iFit workouts. The 2.00 HP motor is quiet and according to NordicTrack can be run non-stop for up to 5 hours! That should be enough for most runners we think or for all the family to go one after the other. The warranty is excellent, it comes With lifetime frame cover, 10 years on the motor and 2 years full on site parts and labour.

The NordicTrack C2000 is no doubt a quality running machine with state of the art technology to help you reach your fitness goals. The motor runs like a dream and the ability to change the feel of the deck is a great benefit. We love the iFit SD card function and know you will too - if you can put up with the accent!

Five Most Common Putting Mistakes

No one's shocked anymore when Tiger Woods drills a 20-foot putt to win a championship. He's one of the best clutch putters in the game. But did you know that when he practices putting Tiger spends more time working on short putts than long putts. That's right. One media sources estimates he spends about 65 percent of the time he spends practicing putting working on short putts.

Most putts are from 5 to 15 feet. These short putts probably make up about 25-30 percent of your total score. You don't need a golf lesson to figure out that if you sink more of these short putts, you'd lower your golf handicap by at least a couple of strokes. Unfortunately, weekend golfers tend to commit too many mistakes when facing short putts. Here are some common mistakes golfers make when putting and some drills on how to eliminate them.

Confidence is the Key

Many golfers flinch when they putt. Or, they rush the putt so much their stroke becomes choppy and uneven. You can become a great putter if your putting stroke is smooth and free flowing. Creating good rhythm in your putting stroke is the best way of eliminating flinching and rushing. No matter what style of putting you use, if you flinch or rush you'll probably miss lot of putts. Unfortunately, most golfers concentrate more on sinking putts than working on developing a smooth stroke.

Next time you're on the practice green, make some smooth pendulum strokes with your eyes closed. As you make your stroke, count out a simple cadence "one-two." "one-two." Once you feel a good flow, have a friend place a ball at his discretion in the path of your putter head. No knowing when the ball is coming helps eliminate the flinching or rushing that can cause you to miss those short putts.

No Putting Ritual

Another common mistake in putting is a lack of putting ritual. If watch Tiger Woods, Fred Funk, or Sergio Garcia putt, you'll notice that they all have a putting ritual. Their rituals are all different. One player walks all around the putt before stepping up to hit it. Another takes his practice strokes behind the ball. But the one thing that's not different is that they use the same ritual every time they make a putt, regardless of the length or difficulty. Develop your own putting ritual. Base it on sound putting techniques and what makes you feel comfortable. And use it every time you have a putt. You'll find that a ritual not only relaxes you and helps build confidence in your putting.

Worry about Outcomes

Weekend players worry too much about the outcome of a short putt. What if I miss the putt? This places a lot of pressure on the golfer. Since the pressure of outcomes is tied directly to the hole, try eliminating it when you practice to relieve the pressure. Next time you're on the practice green, work on drills that improve your putting accuracy without using the hole. For example, place a scorecard over the hole and try to roll the ball over the card, so that the ball ends about two feet past the hole. These drills will improve your accuracy without the added pressure of sinking the putt.

Choking the Putter

A common mistake I see in my golf instruction sessions on putting is players gripping their putters too tightly. Some players grip their putters so tight, their hands almost turn white. A soft and constant grip pressure is vital to maintaining a smooth, free-flowing stroke and creating better "feel" when putting. For players who think they may be choking the putter, try holding an uncooked egg between your right index finger (or left index finger, if your left-handed) and the shaft of your putter. Now drop a few balls and stroke some putts. If your grip is too tight, you'll soon know.

Too Handsy

Another common mistake I see in golf instruction sessions on putting is players using too much of their hands in their putting stroke. Being too handsy eliminates the true feel of a smooth, free-swinging pendulum and cause jerky inconsistent putts. One remedy is to use a belly putter. Simply anchor the putter to a comfortable point on your midsection and swing away. Add a "one-two" count to the stroke to improve rhythm. This approach reduces the amount of movement in the smaller muscles in your hand and keeps the blade on plane.

Eliminating these common mistakes from your putting will not only build rhythm in your putting stroke, they'll also help increase your confidence in your putting. That's big. Ask any professional golfer what the key to great putting is and he or she will probably tell you it's confidence. Great putters are shocked when they miss a short putt. That's how confident they are. To improve your golf handicap, you need to work on things that build confidence and increase accuracy your short putting.

The Wrist Cock Golf Training Aid

Using golf training aids in your golf game is a good practice. There are training aids for everything from putting to hitting a driver. How about the training aids that you use on your body to keep yourself connected or lined up on the target line correctly. The only problem is, there seems to be confusion as to how the wrist cocks in the backswing. This especially true for beginners, because the wrist cock needs to be felt. How can a golf training aid help you to feel how the wrist cocks?

There are plenty of places that you can learn from about how the wrist cocks in the golf swing. You can find them in online golf instruction, golf magazines, and especially my favorite, infomercials.

Seeing a golf tip in action is always better for you than reading or hearing about it. Let's see what an infomercial can tell us about how the wrist cocks in the golf swing. Here's some you might have seen.

* Greg Norman's Secret

* The Medicus

* The Glove

* Kallassy's Swing Magic

Now you don't have to rush out and go buy any of these golf training aids if you don't want to. By watching some of these infomercials though, you can start to pick up on a central theme. How and where your wrists are supposed to be during the golf swing. Better yet. How they are supposed to feel.

Take a look at Greg Norman's Secret. If you watch the infomercial, you might pick up the fact that your right wrist shouldn't be moving much at all. It's movement is fixed. The stationary piece of plastic won't allow any back and forth movement of the hand, only a slight raising of the thumb towards the wrist. Greg even tells you that the wrist cock is like shaking hands with someone. I want you to take this feeling with you. Try to keep the 'V' of your right thumb and forefinger pointed at your right shoulder all the way through the swing. This feeling will allow your wrists to hinge naturally.

Then there's the Medicus. It doesn't matter if you want to talk about the iron or the driver. That shouldn't matter much to you. What you need to pick up on is how the hinge is oriented to the club face. The hinge is facing the same way as face of the club. So if you were to break your wrist backwards on itself, wouldn't the hinge on the Medicus also break. The only way to take the club back without making the hinge break is to cock the wrist upwards. Watch the Medicus infomercial sometime and try to pick out the feeling that you are trying to achieve with this training aid.

The next time that you're watching The Golf Channel and you see an infomercial from one of the golf training aids mentioned, take the time to really watch it. Study what it is about the training aid that is helping golfers improve. Are you feeling the same thing that the training aid is trying to teach? Are you making your golf game more complicated by cocking your wrists too much? Or the wrong way?

These products, the golf training aids, are helpful if you own them, but you can learn a lot just by watching how they are being used.

Used Golf Carts

There are many advantages to purchasing used golf carts over buying new golf carts. For one, many time golf carts up for sale have been used very little and are nearly as good as brand new golf carts. The main advantage to the individual considering buying used golf carts is the great deal of money that can be saved.

The main advantage of used golf carts to the environment and community is the recycling of useable goods. This decreases waste which aids in keeping landfill loads minimized, not to mention the reduction of waste from the fewer golf carts that will be manufactured.

So used golf carts are better for the environment as well the pocketbook, but how exactly does one go about finding used golf carts that are for sale? If you already belong to a country club or utilize a public golf course, this would be a great place to begin in your search. In fact, many times these types of facilities are looking for ways to get rid of their older equipment in order to make room for newer golf cart models.

Used golf carts bought from a country club or golf course are optimal sources for used golf carts for many reasons. One, these types of business are among the most likely to be in the market for new golf carts at any given time; as they go through more golf carts in general, they will be most likely to lend an ear to your quest for used golf carts -particularly is you are a regular customer or club member.

Secondly, golf courses and country clubs are viable sources of used golf carts because at these places of business, it is important for their golf cart vehicles to be kept in tip top condition. This means that the maintenance keeper responsible for servicing the facility's golf carts will also maintain the vehicles according to a regular schedule of checks that will catch problems before they adversely affect overall performance.

In fact, the only way that a fleet of vehicles can be maintained over any amount of time is to adhere to a schedule of maintenance such that every vehicle's major systems are checked at regular intervals. If a country club or public golf course is a reputable or well established business, you can be pretty sure that their used golf carts were maintained on a regular basis, and as such, one can expect that they will last longer than less cared for units.

Though you can also find some fair deals on used golf carts at online auction websites, I advise going through a local supplier, such as the method mentioned above. If you do not have one of these potential sources of used golf carts though, don't be too quick to dismiss online auction houses. Look for a link to their 'advanced search' page and input your location, as well as how far away auction items may be located from you in order to show up in your search results of auction items.

You never know until you look. You just may find an awesome deal on a nearly new golf cart or fleet of gently used golf carts in a little town fifty miles from your town. In many cases it can be well worth arranging the additional nuances of a transaction with another individual this way. It is a good idea to take a friend along or perhaps even hire a freight company if you feel uncomfortable about dealing with someone you haven't met before.

I highly recommend at least seeing what there is available online before deciding on a purchase at a local retailer or second hand from a golf course. This is also a great way to inform yourself about the various models, price ranges, features and long term maintenance information.

Garmin GPS - A Review Of A Few Of Their Automotive Offerings

Sunday, April 4, 2010

Garmin - Who are they?

Garmin is the largest consumer GPS manufacturer and has become almost synonymous with "GPS". Garmin was started in 1989 and has a history of producing leading GPS products and they have sold millions of GPS receivers. The have a nice line of Automotive GPS units.

Garmin StreetPilot c340 -
